The Toronto Maple Leafs have re-signed centre Darryl Boyce to a one-year contract.

Boyce scored five goals and eight assists in 46 games with the Maple Leafs in 2010-11, where he saw mostly fourth-line duties.

The responsible centre was finally able to get a regular shift in the bigs last season after spending most of the previous three seasons with the AHL's Toronto Marlies.

Originally signed as a free agent by the Maple Leafs in 2008, Boyce will once again compete for Toronto's fourth-line centre job against recent signings Mike Zigomanis and Philippe Dupuis. In 169 career games with the Marlies, Boyce scored 28 goals and added 53 assists, adding 298 penalty minutes.
