Last night there were scouts at the Edmonton Oilers-Nashville Predators game: San Jose, Phoenix, Vancouver, Columbus, Chicago, Toronto and 2 from Atlanta.

The Thrashers are really struggling and are currently out of a playoff spot. Atlanta has been scouting Ales Hemsky for the last few games.

Columbus also wants Hemsky where they feel he would fit in well with Rick Nash.

The Maple Leafs have been scouting Dustin Penner since Christmas and will try and make a deal for him at the trade deadliine.

Right now the Oilers want a 1st round draft pick and prospect for Hemsky.

Ladislav Smid, Andrew Cogliano and Gilbert Brule are also being scouted as they all will be traded at the NHL trade deadline.

That is the most retarded trade rumor I've heard about this year.

No way in the world it could happen - obviously coming out of Boston....

Let's hope Steve Tambellini is not retarded enough to make this trade.
1. The Toronto pick looks to be no greater than #4 at the current pace so value is medium at best.
2. Wheeler, Ryder & stuart are average players. The Oilers could find alternative UFAs this summer so...
3. Rask looks like a goaltending improvement but.. Penner, Paajarvi, Dubnyk & Whitney headed in the other direction????
May as well burn your season tickets if this trade happens.

Oh, that would be a great trade for both teams....the Oilers get their #1 goalie that is young and Boston gets some scoring and a potential superstar in Paajarvi.
