Jared Boll of the Blue Jackets placed on IR

The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Jared Boll on injured reserve.

The move is retroactive to October 9, the day after Boll was hurt during the season-opening game against San Jose in Stockholm. The team did not disclose the nature of Boll's injury, although he did incur a five-minute fighting major in the first period of the opener.

Boll is entering his fourth NHL season, all with the Blue Jackets. He posted four goals and three assists with a team-high 149 penalty minutes last year and in 219 career games has 13 goals, 18 assists and 560 penalty minutes.
