Jan Hejda Suspended 2 Games

The NHL suspended Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Jan Hejda for two games for elbowing an opponent.

Hejda was suspended for elbowing Chicago's forward Marcus Kruger in the head in the second period of the Blackhawks' 4-3 shootout win Friday night. Hejda received a two-minute elbowing minor penalty on the play.

Hejda will also US$21,505.38 in salary. which will go to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

Hejda will miss the Jackets' game Sunday against St. Louis and Tuesday versus Dallas. He is eligible to return Friday night at Nashville.
