James Neal Signs 6 Years Contract Extension

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed forward James Neal to a six-year contract extension with an average annual value of $5 million.

The deal starts next season and runs through the 2017-18 campaign.

Through 58 games this year, Neal has 30 goals and 56 points - career highs in both categories.

The 24-year-old Neal was acquired by the Penguins from the Dallas Stars last season along with D Matt Niskanen for D Alex Goligoski.
