TThe Tampa Bay Lightning have avoided arbitration with right wing Teddy Purcell, agreeing to terms on a two-year contract Wednesday.

"We were happy to get Teddy signed this morning for the next two seasons,” said Lightning vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman.  “He had a good year in 2010-11, his first full season in the NHL, and we look forward to seeing him continue to grow as a contributor for the Tampa Bay Lightning.”

Purcell scored 17 goals and 34 assists in 81 games with the Bolts last season. He also made his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut, scoring six goals and 11 assists in 18 games.
