The Atlanta Thrashers have traded forward Todd White to the New York Rangers in exchange for forwards Patrick Rissmiller and Donald Brashear.

White, 35, scored seven goals and 19 assists in 65 games with Atlanta last season. He will be joining his sixth NHL club, having also played for Chicago, Philadelphia, Ottawa, Minnesota, and the Thrashers.

Rissmiller, 31, played the majority of last season with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL, where he scored 20 goals and 27 assists in 69 games. In each of 2006-07 and 2007-08, Rissmiller played 79 games with the San Jose Sharks. He signed with the Rangers as an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2008, but was unable to gain a consistent spot in the Rangers' lineup and played the majority of the next two seasons in the AHL.

Brashear, 38, had one assist and 73 penalty minutes in 36 games with New York last season. He is a veteran of 1,025 NHL games, and will also be joining his sixth club (Montreal, Vancouver, Philadelphia, Washington and the Rangers).

Several reports indicate that the Thrashers plan to buy out Brashear's $1.4 million contract once he clears waivers.
