Kyle Okposo Injures Shoulder

New York Islanders forward Kyle Okposo is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury that will require surgery.

Okposo was held out of last Friday's practice and was re-evaluated over the weekend. It's unknown how much time he will miss.

Newsday is reporting that Okposo has a torn labrum in his right shoulder and will be out until December.

The 22-year-old Okposo was one of the Islanders' most productive forwards last season, scoring 19 goals and adding 33 assists in 80 games. In parts of three seasons with New York, the St. Paul, Minnesota native has 39 goals and 57 assists in 154 contests.
