At the Lightning-Islanders game last night, Phoenix Coyotes GM Don Maloney and their Director of Pro Scouting, as well as the San Jose Sharks Director of Pro Scouting (John Ferguson Jr.) were checking out Ny Islander players for trades.
The Islanders have currently lost 11 in a row. Iti s clear they are in a rebuilding mode. They do not have Mark Streit and Kyle Okposo.
The only untouchable right now is John Taveres. It is believed scouts are watching the Islanders to see how Rob Schremp and MattĀ Moulson are playing. They can provide teams with some secondary scoring.
The Islanders are looking for prospects or draft picks back to help in the rebuilding mode of the team.
Right now it looks like a race between Edmonton and the Islanders to see who get's the 1st overall pick for 2011.
