The Detroit Red Wings have agreed to terms with defenceman Niklas Kronwall on a seven-year contract extension worth an average of $4.75 million per season.

The deal is worth $33.25 million over the course of the contract.

Kronwall, 30, was in the final season of a five-year contract and is one of nine Red Wings set to become unrestricted free agents next July.

The deal includes a no-trade clause in the first five years of extension and a limited no-trade clause in the final two years. The limited no-trade is based on 10 teams that Kronwall would accept a trade to.
