The Phoenix Coyotes have taken care of their last remaining bit of housekeeping as the team announced Friday that they had signed restricted free agent Martin Hanzal to a two-year deal worth $3.6 million.

The 23-year old Hanzal is set to earn $1.5 million in the first year of the deal and $2.1 million in the second.

The Pisek, Czech Republic native had 11 goals and 22 assists in 81 games with the Coyotes last season.  He added three assists in Phoenix's first round playoff loss to the Detroit Red Wings.

"We are happy to have re-signed Marty and have him in Phoenix for the start of training camp next week," said Phoenix general manager Don Maloney. "He is an important player for us who plays critical minutes against the best opposing forwards."

Hanzal was originally selected by the Coyotes in the first round, 17th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry draft.  In 227 career games, all with Phoenix, Hanzal has 30 goals and 69 assists.
