The Phoenix Coyotes have signed enforcer Paul Bissonnette to a two-year contract extension worth $1.475 million.

Bissonnette will earn $725,000 next season and $750,000 in 2013-14. He has one year left on his current deal at $625,000.

Coyotes general manager Don Maloney announced the deal Wednesday. Phoenix claimed the 26-year-old Bissonnette off waivers from Pittsburgh on Sept. 30, 2009.

The six-foot-two, 216-pound forward had one goal and a team-high 71 penalty minutes in 48 regular-season games last season.
