Nick Boynton Signs One Year Contract

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed defenceman Nick Boynton to a one-year contract.  Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 31-year old Boynton had one goal and seven assists in 49 games split between the Blackhawks and the Anaheim Ducks.  He was held scoreless in three playoff games during the Hawks Stanley Cup drive.

Originally a first round draft pick, 21st overall by the Boston Bruins in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, the Nobleton, Ontario native has 33 goals and 103 assists in 554 career games with the Bruins, Coyotes, Panthers, Ducks and Blackhawks.
