There are trade rumors coming out of Edmonton that the Oilers have offered the Toronto Maple Leafs Linus Omark and a 2nd round pick for Cody Franson.

TSN's Darren Dreger stated on Toronto's sports station that a team had offered the Leafs a player and a 2nd round pick.

GM Brian Burke is weighing his options right now and seeing if another NHL team will offer something more for Franson.

Edmonton needs a defenceman with size and mobility, and the Oilers think they can get Franson from the Leafs.

Leafs were going to fall anyway. They do every year in November. Trade Kessel and Phaneauf and we might be able to free up some cash to get a few really good young players that can play two ways.

Now Lombardi and Komiserek went down to injury last night...so what is BB waiting for? Christmas? LOL! If something isnt done very soon, it looks like another year with no playoffs for the Leafs.

I forgot to mention Armstrong as well. Thats our #1 goalie and 4 of our top 9 forwards.... It's do or die time now.

I think Burke needs to pull the trigger, if not on this trade on another and fast... we had a great start and are now rapidly falling out of playoff contention. On top of that we are now down Reimer, connolly, grabovski, and macarthur. We need to do something soon. Goal tending, scoring and special teams need to be addressed.. as does getting rid of ron wilson.
