2012 Rick Nash Trade Rumors

Written by PuckMe    Last Updated ( Saturday, 25 February 2012 10:45 ) PDF Print E-mail

D-Day has arrived for the trade of Rick Nash.

Rick Nash wants to play in Toronto but right now the asking price is too high. GM Scott Howson wants defenceman Jake Gardnier as part of a package deal for Nash. Brian Burke is not willing to make that trade as of right now.

Burke's only focus is landing Nash at the trade deadline before all of Leaf Nation turns on him.

Bill Waters is reporting.... The Maple Leafs would get Rick Nash and Kristian Huselius for Mikhail Grabovski, Luke Schenn, Nazem Kadri and Joe Colborne.

No word on what the New York Rangers are offering yet.

The San Jose Sharks and Philadelphia Flyers are also making a pitch for Rick Nash.

Brian Burke will trade for Nash at the Entry Draft... we will give up our top 5 draft pick, top prospect and roster player for Nash.

Nash is worth what ever someone is willing to pay. Leafs are not willing to give enough up. I have been told by some other people in the hockey world that I am close to....that Nash will not go anywere most likely till the draft when in reality every player on every team is up for grabs. Now If Nash goes before monday he will go to a team that has a chance to win it all this year. I was also told that Nash wants to go to a team with a good chance to come back to Columbus in the future he wants to win there. Bottom line. So all you guys with your wishfull thinking you need to stop get a life and get a job and off your Ps3's or xbox.

I agree with Doug McLean on hockey Central ....the Leafs should get Nash a Hometown boy and franchise player at any cost at this point! How great would it finally be to have that superstar and from Toronto...they are burying there youth and talent in the minors anyways.

To Leafs
Nash
Mason
Johanson
Carter

To CBJ
Kessel
Colborne
Schenn
Riemer
2nd round pick

If it takes Gardner instead of Schenn you make that deal instantly...its a must move for both teams...

Nash will be traded at the 2012 Entry draft, not the trade deadline

First of all your mom isn't an NHL legend, second Kessel goes nowhere. You can bet the money you save on rent by living in your parents basement on it!

I ran into an NHL legend in my business dealings and was told the word about Kessel in the Leaf organization is that Kessel is a guy who can help get a team to the playoffs but would be a ......NON FACTOR when it comes down to the gitty play needed to win and with this would be willing to move Kessel for a more determined player who score the same goal but has size and grittyness to his play....they feel Kessels worth is at all time high for trade value and would loose stock as he moves closer to UFA in 2 years.
Its not that stupid to trade Kessel right now for a tougher player in his position!!!!!!

Trade kessel? You guys are f**king stupid. What team trades their top player when trying to build? Toronto will not trade kessel in any scenario. Nash is a long shot for Toronto. They would have to give too much. Better chance of this trade happening in the offseason

Columbus will want Gardner and Burke will say no

Enough stupid trade scenarios. Go back to your x box

I have to agree with Jake and also Killer on this site with some of what they say!

I truly feel that the Leafs should make s trong pitch with Kessel as he is at hi prime to tur nover right now, I truly feel a good solid offer for two teams would be with NY Islanders.

To Islanders
Kessel
Schenn
Kadri
Riemer
2nd rounder

TO LEAFS
Tavares
Neiderrieter
Nabokov

This trade helps Islanders in every position with young credable players....as well as the leafs where they need to be NOW!
If an inter divisison trade could be arranged I think this is the best fit.

Then I would send

To St Louis
Kulimen, Gustavson & Komisarek

To Leafs
Jaroslav Halak

To Nashville
Jake Gardner
Kieth Aullie

To LEAFS
Ryan Suter

Abdelkader, Filppula, White, 1st round pick this year, 2nd round pick next year for Nash. Columbus then flips that #1 pick and Carter for a starting goaltender, thinking Ryan Miller out of Buffalo, a defenceman and another plumber type forward. Everyone wins with that one and Detroit gets another Brendan Shanahan type and rides him to another Cup.
