Keith Aulie Trade Rumors

Written by PuckMe    PDF Print E-mail

The Philadelphia Flyers have been scouting the Toronto Maple Leafs the past few games.

The Flyers are looking for a big defenceman. Many believe the Flyers are after Keith Aulie. Aulie has played really well for the Leafs since being called up from the AHL earlier this season..

Brian Burke wants Brayden Schenn or James van Riemsdyk from Philly. Obviously Burke would have to add another player in to complete the deal..

Right now Burke is trying to work out a trade for Ryan Getzlaf......so any Schenn or van Riemsdyk deal for Aulie is on hold.

Reply to Sick of BS.

I think that you have tings figured out here. A few years ago, we heard Burke ranting about entitlement and the "Muskoka Five"... I suggest that we have a new version of the Muskoka Five at work here: "Brian Burke; Dave Nunis: Dave Poulin; Claude Loiselle and (of course!) Ron Wilson"... fair enough to measure the body of work for a team by its record since September. It is a time to reflect on the body of work produced by the "NEW" Muskoka Five. At least the previous "five" skated, scored the odd goal and more or less did their jobs. This bunch deserves to be held fully accountable. This too is part of rebuilding

I learned an important lesson: do not get emotionally involved with any of my holdings. We have all been duped by what transpires. You have a GM who has made himself larger than the team. Burke is more of the problem than any feasable solution. I look at Steve Yzerman operating more or less on his own. He's wheeling and dealing and the team is progressing. Then, turning to the Leafs, look at what Burke has done. He has surrounded himself with a hired team of alleged experts and former GMs and a coach that has long been out of touch. Among them, methinks that they spend far too much time back slapping, sipping cocktails and noshing business lunches. Now, less than 72 hours before the trade deadline is NOT the time to accomplish very much as we all watch them fall out of (at least!) a play off spot. Seriously folks, it's time to recognize that Burke's grand plan was in reality no plan. Let's cut the tie with Burke and move along.

WE NEED A GOALI AN FAST!!!!!!

I know people dont agree with me on this site...BUT I really see the leafs in a different view and dont get caought up in favorite players and so forth.

Why the Leafs youth is not in this line up is beyond me!!!!!

If they arent going to play them TRADE them for the assets you need.

I really would trade Kessel Schenn and Colborne Riemer and a Pick for a top elite guy and goalie with a prospect rounding out the trade!

Burke could MAX his return right now and really place the leafs well for the future!

I do not see Schenn and Kessel being major components in a PLAYOFF thick gameor series and feel Kessel would simply fade away!

We need a goalie!!!!

I really feel that the leafs need to move Kessel NOW at his highest return .....As a business person I had a run in with a former NHL player who is now a scout and he said that Kessel is a great guy to get you the points to make the playoffs but the fear is he would be a NON FACTOR when the shit hits the fan to have to play your heart out in a physical and demnading series in the playoffs and would not be worth resigning in 2 years when he turns a UFA the best return for him would be right now when there are players of great magnitude available that normally are not available...he could be the key to get back a very good return for a multi player deal that gives the leafs size and skill in multiple players or a FRANCHISE player for years to come!!!

I have to agree with Jake and also Killer on this site with some of what they say!

I truly feel that the Leafs should make s trong pitch with Kessel as he is at hi prime to tur nover right now, I truly feel a good solid offer for two teams would be with NY Islanders.

To Islanders
Kessel
Schenn
Kadri
Riemer
2nd rounder

TO LEAFS
Tavares
Neiderrieter
Nabokov

This trade helps Islanders in every position with young credable players....as well as the leafs where they need to be NOW!
If an inter divisison trade could be arranged I think this is the best fit.

Then I would send

To St Louis
Kulimen, Gustavson & Komisarek

To Leafs
Jaroslav Halak

To Nashville
Jake Gardner
Kieth Aullie

To LEAFS
Ryan Suter

It has become very obvious that the LEAFS are NOT making the playoffs this year...this 3 game road swing...has really exposed the true team...and they now have no goaltending to count on and a dried up goal production .....and in my opinion one of the EASIEST teams to intimidate and muscle around like pee wee players.........Vancouver is a REAL TEAM and iam a Leaf fan......the leafs are a bunch of misfits that burhe has tried to plug holes with ...well that isnt working anymore.............
PLEASE BURKE cut the fat..bring up Colborne ...Kadri and Holzer and Give Rynass a shot at running the table like Riemer last year and TRADE KESSEL for a PLAYER WITH SOME GUTS....!!!!!!

How is Rick Nash not is a Leaf uniform by now....
Kessel- Incosistant streaky and does not use his body enough, no size
or GRABOVSI
Grabovski UFA next year let him go
Riemer inconsitant let him go
Kadri OR Colborne keep one and your good.
Schenn
...OVERATED let him go
2nd round pick ...its a gamble let it go

Leafs need to see what they have in Rynass....and pick up another goalie in offseason anyways so Riemer or Gustavson can go.

Nash has such good leadrship and is a proven winner in the Olympics and will score the ame as Grobovski or Kessel anyways but brings more the the table.

I would do this OFFER

Grbovski or Kessel
Colborne or Kadri
Schenn or Holzer
Gustavson or Riemer
Komisarek to clear some cap
2nd round pick

For :

Rick Nash
Ryan Johanson
Steve mason
Colton Gillies

I cant believe that Ron Wilson is sticking up for Tim Connolly who is a VETERAN and decides to crap down Nazim Kadris play when he makes mistakes ....

Kadri has 4 goals in 19 games
Connoly has 7 goals in 44 games

Kadri is 1.3 million
Connolly is 4.5 million

BRIAN BURKE PLEASE READ !!!!!!!!!!

Please send Lombardi Connolly Armstrong and Komisarek packing and take the chains off of 16 million in cap space and use your depth in the Marlies and grow your Leaf team ...stop stunting your growth!!!!!!!

Let your youth grow in a Leafs uniform

First off....
the leafs need to DUMP DEAD weight ...and thats Connoly Komisarek and Lombardi ....PICK UP ANY draft picks clear cap space of 12 million...move on!!!

Second
Bring up KADRI and COLBORNE repalce Connoly position with Coloborne and Lombardi with Kadri !!!
2 million replacements instead of 7 million...

Problem is now both Colborne and Kadri are 1 year behind the resto f the team and development ...they should have been the youth that the leafs injected into the is years line up and dealt with the mistakes to help them lear ...thy cant be as BAD as the other players mentioned above BIG MISTAKE BY BURKE AND WILSON !!!
If Kadri was putting up the numbers Connoly is he would be run out of town by Wilson ...They are ruining Kadri and his development....BRING UP AND KEEP hime for the plaoffs and give this kid the EXPERINCE he needs to HELP YOU!!!!!

qoq Getzlaf , Van Reimsdyke . Braydon Schenn and Rick Nash now that is a lot of players that Burke wants for the same players he is trading .

Simply mind boggling what is in the rumor mill .
Nash seems to be the only realistic deal though .

In my opinion Brayden Schenns stock has dropped considerably and I believe in Burkes philosophy of you never know what a player will turn into and a sure thing is always in the math which means POINT PRODUCTION ...and thats why Burke got kessel the way he did..... propects take time to develope look at Tavares ...cant tell me Seguin would put up Kessel numbers on the Leafs no chance ...Boston team is solid and makes him look better than he his....Iam starting to believe in BURKE and his CHEMISTRY hard work policy with players who have a proven track record .....I understand BURKES PLAN now ....I HOPE HE DOES NOT SELL OUT or VERE from his desired destination ...he has stayed true to his word and told everyone to ( F ) off I a know what Iam doing...he has made a few mistakes in gambles on contracts but he has the pieces to make this work and is only one player away ....he needs a STANLEY CUP WINNER IN THE ROOM !!!
