Zach Parise Trade Rumors

The latest on the Zach Parise trade front.....

There are reports that Devils forward Zach Parise, who will have UFA status this summer, has “no aspirations” to remain in New Jersey, which could force the Devils to move his rights at the 2012 NHL entry draft or loose him for nothing. In addition it seems the Devils do not have the cap space to re-sign Parise either.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are the frontrunners to land Parise as they have the cap space, the Leafs are full of his team USA buddies and he feels the Leafs will be a Stanley Cup contender.

Other teams that will try hard to sign Parise are the Minnesota Wild, New York Rangers and Calgary Flames.

His rights? Parise is a UFA this year. His rights can't go for much considering he has no obligation to stay with whomever obtains his rights. It makes no sense. His agent will listen to whoever balks. Calgary has the cap space and the dolloars to out bid toronto and Carolina. Everyone is proposing trade deals like he is actually with NJ. UFA means Unrestricted free agent... as opposed to restricted free agent, which Parise is not.

Parise addressed that comment and said It was untrue and all speculation. Sorry Leaf fans, but expect Parise to stay in NJ.. And whoever thought that Lou would give up Parise, Zajac, and Greene, must be insane.. We'll all see what happens with Zach (not Zack) soon enough..

An epic failure?

Kessel had 30 goals once before coming to toronto, parise has scored 30 or more goals 4 straight seasons.
He has notched the 90 point mark, and plays a great two way game

There would be no question mark on how he would play in toronto or any team

Leafs acquire: zack Parise, Colin white

Devils acquire: Luke schenn, a prospect, 1st round draft pick

Ok I love the Maple Leafs but even I'm not that stupid. There is no way Toronto is going to give up Schenn. He's a proven talent and could still develop. More than likely they'll try a Kessel-like trade which, depending on how well Parise plays, could be great like Kessel, or an epic failure(hopeful ly the first one). Toronto might get a bargain since the cap streched devils might be desperate to get something for him, but that's a lot of mights.
