Andrei Markov Trade Rumors

Andrei Markov will be a UFA on July 1st. He is a great offensive defenceman. Markov's issue is his health. He only played 45 games in 2009-2010 and this year he has played 7 games. Markov has also suffered two serious knee injuries.

Markov currently makes $5,750,000/year. He will not make that salary after having two serious injuries. Look for the Montreal Canadiens to offer Markov a 1 year contract at 4 million...and possibly extend him if he stays healthy during the 2011-2012 NHL season.

If Markov decides to test the free agent market a team might offer Markov a 3 year deal at 4 million a year....but with his health issues a 1 year contract is more likely what Markov will get until he can prove his knee's are 100%..... stay tuned....
