Detroit Red Wings Rumors

There are trade rumors floating around that the Detroit Red Wings will use the $6 million from the retired Brian Rafalski to go after Nashville Predators Defenceman Shea Weber. The Predators might match an offer but they are on a strict budget and might not be able to afford the $6 million a year salary offer Weber will receive.

Red Wings defenseman Jonathan Ericasson doesn’t really want to test the free agent market this summer and would rather make less money and re-sign with the Red Wings.

The Red Wings need to get younger to push Todd Bertuzzi and Tomas Holmstrom. Jiri Hudler will be trade bait in the off-season to get a young prospect.
